We Are Family!

At Kathy’s House we are a family.

We believe everything God has for each resident here can be found amid a healthy God-centered family. When someone comes to Kathy’s House, we commit to caring for them as a family would. We make goals, overcome obstacles, sort through the wreckage of the past, bring healing, take care of medical, educa- tional, employment, court and transportation needs. This is why partnerships are so important to us. Your prayers and financial contributions are critical to each of these remarkable people’s success. Here’s some updates since our last newsletter:

At Rosie’s Place, on April 6th, we had a baby shower for Kusaundra and Desirae. We also celebrat- ed Mary Ruth’s birthday. It was a wonderful evening filled with joy, hope and blessing. In addition to these special events, we also celebrated Jody’s (Our House Mother) one year graduation. Jody has been such an amazing addition to Rosie’s Place and to the minis- try. Because of all of you, we were able to bless her with a car and employment.

Baby Samuel

On May 31st, Desirae gave birth to beautiful little Samuel. I cannot express how proud we are of her and the difficult choices she has had to make during this pregnancy. Desirae is my hero. By participating in this program and all the amazing women that surround her; she is discovering that she is a powerful woman, and she holds the keys to a happy healthy future for Samuel and herself.

Also, we are very proud to share that two of our women have returned to school and will graduate with a High School Diploma once they complete their courses.  This will
open many new opportunities for both.

3 Men Baptized

At Zachary’s House, on March 16th, we had a baptism for 3 of the men. Steve Marano baptized the men in the community jacuzzi.
It was awesome! The presence of the Lord was in our midst and these mighty men made a public proclamation that old things have passed away, all things have become new. Learning to walk as a new creation is something that must happen in family. I am so proud of these men and their decision to follow Christ and their commitment to living sober.

On the 2nd of May, we had another graduation. Jacob Gomez finished his one-year commitment. Jacob has a huge family and many of his children and grandchildren were present to celebrate his accomplishment. It was an amazing night. We are so proud of Jacob and all the growth we have seen in just a year. Jacob has now moved out on his own and we were able to bless him with a vehicle and employment for the next chapter in his journey.

I don’t want this to ever feel like words on a page. Lives are being radically transformed; restoration is taking place; these men and women are finding purpose and meaning; they are being loved and cared for. It is such an honor to be a small part in this. If you have a desire to get plugged in and volunteer in any way, please let us know. There are so many ways you can get involved. We are so grateful for every one of you!

Blessings,
