Our Journey

I spent some time this week reflecting on my journey. Nothing in particular, mostly meditating on just how good God is and just how much He has done for me and those around me. So many times in this journey He has responded to me so differently than I would have expected. He has been merciful when I deserved judgment.  He has been kind when I was expecting anger, He has been gentle instead of harsh. Even in times of discipline He always finds a way to make me feel loved and cared for. With a Father like that behind you, you cannot fail.

We are seeing tremendous fruit in the lives of our residents. Each and every person is so very unique, no path looks the same. We are daily praying and trusting the Lord to reveal His plan for each of the lives in our care. God has been so faithful to deliver.

Baby Samuel - 4 mo old

At Rosie’s Place Samuel just turned four months old, Desirae is an amazing mother and we are all so grateful to have them with us.  Michelle is currently on a missions trip in South Africa experiencing community with a group from our church. Mary Ruth has just moved into the work phase of our program and is very excited to start making her way in the marketplace with the covering of a loving family. Brittney is loving her new art class and has become quite the chef at home and Jody is walking in the midst of answered prayers as her husband Eric has entered our mens program. They can now walk in all the restoration God originally intended for them. We have begun a partnership with Amelia Grace stables for Equine therapy. The first round of ladies are enjoying it very much. We also have a group enrolled in the Step Forward Academy.

At Zachary’s House we just had a
graduation for Tim Roberts. Tim has had an amazing year and has agreed to stay on as our house manager. Jeff has been leading an outreach Friday night at the beach in San Clemente. All the men attend and provide the homeless with gift bags and a meal and of course prayer and companionship. Last week they prayed for a young woman who made a decision to get off the streets and we arranged for her to go to the Ranch in Lake Elsinore the next day.

In the community we were able to provide 35 underprivileged youth with backpacks and school supplies. It was a very special day and I am so grateful for all the people who made it happen. On October 1st the Shoreline church sent out a team of people to serve Kathy’s House. They went so over and above anything we could ever hope for. They built a new front porch at our Men’s home and at the Women’s home they installed a new security screen on the front door and fixed other things that needed repair. We are so grateful and want to take the opportunity to thank Shorline. We also want to thank Saddleback Church quilting ministry for making amazing quilts for our ladies and bringing by several bags of supplies for the Women’s home.

The next newsletter will be around Christmas time, I look forward to sharing all that God is doing in our ministry because of partnerships like yours.

Blessings,
